The pay range for this position is between $130,000 and $170,000 annually, and we will rely on previous experience.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Verification Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and reliability of FPGA-based designs through a comprehensive verification and validation processes. This position involves developing robust testbenches, creating advanced simulation environments, executing verification suites, and collaborating closely with Design Engineers to achieve first-pass success for FPGA implementations.
Key Position Accountabilities:
- Design and Development: Develop and implement verification plans, test strategies, and methodologies for complex FPGA-based systems.
- Verification and Validation: Execute comprehensive verification processes, including simulation, testbench creation, requirement-based validation and verification per accepted safety standards, and regression testing to ensure design correctness and performance.
- Collaboration: Partner with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose, debug, and resolve FPGA-related issues, including hardware/software interaction challenges and performance optimizations.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of verification processes, design methodologies, and test results to support traceability and knowledge sharing.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and best practices to junior engineers in FPGA design, verification, and validation techniques.
- Planning: Develop project schedules, identify resource requirements, and support product development from concept through release.
- Continuous Improvement: Research, evaluate, and implement new verification tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance product quality, performance, and development efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related field).
- Experience: 8–15 years of hands-on experience in FPGA verification and development of complex digital systems, utilizing advanced verification techniques and methodologies.
- HDL language & Verification Frameworks: Expertise in VHDL; working knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM for function verification.
- FPGA Design Tools: Proficiency in Xilinx Vivado required; familiarity with Intel Quartus and Lattice Diamond is desirable.
- Simulation & Debug tools: Experience using ModelSim/Questa and Xilinx Integrated Logic Analyzer (ILA).
- Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of FPGA architectures, digital design principles, and high-speed design techniques.
- Protocols: Hands on experience with PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN).
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification Process Experience with the DO-254/178C certification process, including all Stages of Involvement (SOI).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with embedded systems and software development.
- Familiarity with hardware/software co-design and system integration.
- Knowledge of aerospace and military standard and regulation.
